Cairo collection // a poem

Published by katieandmiki on

Minarets, minarets, minarets

Mosques, mosques, mosques

A few coptic churches

The city is awake at all hours

Men sitting at a cafe smoking hooka

Gridlock traffic, traffic, traffic

A million horns beeping

Always

Motorbikes, pedestrians, bicycles, tuk-tuks

A boy balancing a crate cycling against traffic

Weaving left and right, a dance

Old buildings

King Tut, sphinx, 100 pyramids

Falafel, koshiry, pita, shwarma

Dense palm trees

The guttural beat of Arabic

Green, blue, hazel, brown eyes

The mediterranean Africa
